Olurotimi was part of the prestigious first graduating class of 1979 that GCL produced. The first of its kind and they were to set the path and a culture of excellence for all graduating classes to date. He later proceeded to Europe to further his studies. He was awarded a diploma in the German language at the University of Augsberg in Germany in 1981 and an LLB Degree in Law with Honours at the University of Buckingham in the UK in 1984. He was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985.

A bold and visionary leader, he together with colleagues from the early graduating classes of GCL formed the Old Boys association, a platform for the alumni that has endured to the present day. He has been in the forefront of the cause to restore our school and have the LASG attention back on our Alma Mater.

As a practising attorney, he has vast experience in the following areas – Debt and liabilities restructuring, civil and criminal cases, Corporate, Commercial Law, and Oil & Gas Law, and developed a keen interest in Mining Law, Media and Entertainment law.

As a resolute and effective conflict mediator and a prolific organizer of people for common causes, no wonder his skills and talents came in handy during the election cycles that produced Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola and the present President Muhammed Buhari and Vice President Osibajo administration.

Olurotimi Vaughan is currently a member of the Yoruba Tennis Club and Ikoyi Club 1938. He enjoys boating and swimming and has developed a keen interest in golf. He is currently a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Government College Old Boys Association.

He is married with three lovely children.
