The direct play eventually paid off as the Spotless Boys of GCL through Suliamon Roheeb ( Jersey number 9 for GCL) pounced on to the ball courtesy a through-pass resulting from a freekick and beat the goalkeeper with a well taken shot, to hand GCL the lead.
With 5 minutes to go and Dairy Farm team searching for the equaliser, a quick counter move from the Spotless Boys of GCL ended with the ball hitting the upright, but Adamson Taofeek ( Jersey number 7) was on hand to hit the rebound into back of the net to give GCL a two (2) goal lead.
From that moment, it was certain that GCL will progress into the Semi-Finals, as the Diary Farm team tried unsuccessfully to reduce the margin. The referee’s whistle signaling the end of the match confirmed GCL’s place in the Semi-Finals where they meet an opponent yet to be named.
