Sunday’s July 1st, 2018 was a memorable day in the history of GCLOBA as it marked the inauguration of Barr. Imran Oladapo Shitta-Bey as the 14th President of Government College Lagos Old Boys Association – GCLOBA and the commencement of the two-year term of the newly elected EXCO.

The inauguration which was attended by old boys across class sets (many of whom defied the rain to witness this event which took place on GCL premises), had distinguished old boys in attendance amongst whom were immediate past president – Niyi Aromolaran, past presidents- Bayo Ayo, Dapo Dawodu, and Olajuwon Coker.

Also at the event were former Vice President – Pastor Ladi Anjorin, members of the immediate past EXCO, Alhaja Raheenat Abiodun Shitta-Bey (mother of Imran Shitta-Bey), wife of the newly sworn-in president, Mrs. Olajuwon Shitta-Bey.

Administered by Professor Bankole Sodipo, the presidential oath was taken by Imran Shitta-Bey, flanked by other elected members of the EXCO.

Following his swearing-in as President, President Shitta-Bey in his inaugural speech thanked members for believing in him and promised to do all within his powers to ensure the legacy buildings are restored before his tenure comes to an end.
