Top Ten moments of 2018 in GCLOBA – 8
8. Pa William’s Funeral
The year in view marked the death and laying to rest of former Vice Principal and Mathematics teacher Pa C.A. Williams. Pa Williams wasn’t just a teacher but was also a disciplinarian whose role towards moulding the lives of many GCL old boys cannot be undermined. A quintessential academician and trailblazer in our GCL community who touched the academic careers/lives of many students including colleagues from other schools in Lagos during his active service years.
The final outing for Pa Williams was a colourful event as Old boys assembled on Thursday, June 7th at the wake-keep to pay homage and their last respect to this great educator and legend of our time.
The following day (Friday June 8) old boys gathered, this time at the burial reception for late Pa Williams. The event which had the Alakene of Ikenne (an old boy from the class of 86) in attendance, had the presence of several Old boys around the world.
Pa Williams is fondly remembered by all his former students in Europe, North America, South Africa, Ghana and at home in Nigeria. He will be missed also by many old students from other schools in Lagos.
He lives on forever in the hearts of the GCLOBA family.
